The Opportunity
Are you a trade-qualified Boilermaker with a passion for heavy mobile equipment maintenance and delivering quality workmanship? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Boilermakers to join our high-performing team at Curragh North Coal Project.
As a key member of the Curragh North Maintenance team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing mobile mining equipment, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient fleet performance to support operational targets.
Roster: 7/7 Day & Night | Location: Curragh North Coal Project, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full-time
As the Boilermaker, you will:
- Perform repair and maintenance activities on mobile mining equipment in accordance with Thiess maintenance systems and procedures.
- Complete welding, fabrication, gouging and cutting activities to support equipment reliability and availability.
- Source and interpret technical information from maintenance manuals, technical bulletins and computer-based systems.
- Conduct pre-start inspections and maintain safe work practices at all times.
- Ensure workshop tooling remains fit for purpose and report unsafe equipment when identified.
About you
- Trade Certificate in Engineering Fabrication or equivalent trade qualification.
- Demonstrated post-trade experience within mining, heavy earthmoving or hydraulic excavator environments.
- Strong welding, gouging, cutting and fabrication capabilities.
- Experience working on mobile plant equipment and performing heavy welding repairs.
- Current Standard 11.
- Current Driver Licence, with HR Licence highly regarded.
- A proactive attitude and commitment to working safely within a high-performing team.
