Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive the timely and accurate completion of end-of-month deliverables, reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Be a key contributor to annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, including preparation and review of cost build-ups and assumptions.

  • Provide commercial and financial analysis to support project leaders in making informed decisions.

  • Drive financial awareness across the project and ensure financial practices align with company policy, governance and internal controls.

  • Identify financial and commercial risks early, develop practical responses and support effective close-out of actions.

  • Partner with operational and functional stakeholders across head office and site to improve reporting quality, cost control and financial outcomes.

  • Support, coach and provide guidance to other finance team members while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including presenting financial insights in a clear and practical way.

About you

You will be a high-achieving, team-focused finance professional who enjoys delivering results in a dynamic project environment. You will combine strong technical capability with sound commercial judgement and the confidence to engage, challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • CPA or CA qualified, or working towards completion.

  • Relevant project accounting or management accounting experience, with mining, resources, construction or heavy industry experience highly regarded.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and cost control.

  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial information into practical insights and actions.

  • Previous JDE experience is highly regarded but not essential.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence across the project.

  • A commitment to safety, accountability, continuous improvement and team success.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to the Olive Downs Complex site on an ad hoc basis as required.
