The Opportunity

Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Specialist Purchasing to join our high-performing team at Balikpapan Support Facility

As the Specialist Purchasing, you will:

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for parts, consumables, repairs, warranty, fabrication, labour, testing, calibration, and related services across Thiess Australian mining sites.
• Process the full procurement cycle, including RFQ issuance, Order Requisition (OR), approval coordination, Purchase Order (PO) creation, and PO release to suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with Thiess Procurement Policy, TAM Purchasing SOP, and TGS Purchasing Guidelines.
• Monitor procurement lead times and expedite urgent orders to meet project requirements and operational schedules.
• Ensure contracted pricing is applied and contracts remain valid.
• Monitor Long Term Plan (LTP) purchases and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely order confirmation and delivery.
• Verify supplier invoices against Purchase Orders, reconcile invoices, and resolve outstanding credits.
• Manage Accounts Payable Workflow (APWF) and ensure invoices are processed and closed within monthly deadlines.
• Maintain accurate JDE records by clearing outstanding Order Requisitions and resolving unmatched invoices.

About you

• Minimum bachelor's degree with 3-6 years in Supply Chain Environment & Finance/accounting
• Spare Parts or Component of Heavy Equipment and General items knowledge
• Invoice verification and Matching
• Statement Invoice reconciliation and journaling.
• Familiar with MS Office & ERP Knowledge / Oracle JDE - JDE Procurement module
• Advanced in Purchasing material/parts and process
• Must have good English communication skill
