Your opportunity

This role is accountable for, but limited to:

• Develops talent within Engineering & Design management community
• Ensures we have a succession plan for critical BU roles
• Ensures we build capability in the BU through mentoring and training programs
• Participates in the procurement of Engineering resources for the BU to ensure competency are maintained
• Develops and sustains Communities of Practice within the Engineering community
• Support the use and development on the Management System to drive a systematic, planned, consistent and innovative approach to Engineering management?
• Drives innovation in the BU and ensures distribution of lessons learned to other BU’s
• Ensure the implementation of the CPB standard KPI’s for Engineering and Design to support the regular reporting and review of performance at BU for Tenders and Delivery
• Provides oversight of the engineering activities on projects and precontract work winning activities within the Business Unit
• Provide SME input to GM Business Systems
• Engage with the Corporate Functional Managers to assist in functional development within the BU
• Lead the Digital Engineering development for the BU and engagement of the consistent approach within the CPB Business

It is preferable that you possess:

• Demonstrated 10 to 15 years project delivery experience on Major Infrastructure as an Engineering Manager, Project Manager or similar role
• Extensive experience in all aspects of project delivery and project bidding. Including formulating delivery strategies, methodology, temporary works, sub-contractor management, bid strategy, commercial strategy, cost control, estimating and safety
• Demonstrated experience of leading and managing the Engineering function for a business
• Demonstrated experience of driving consistency, continuous improvement and resource development
• Proven and recognised leadership skills at senior level
• Excellent communicator at all levels of management including client facing
• Excellent interpersonal skills and high EQ
• Proven ability of building, managing and maintaining large Engineering teams
• Able to establish and maintain many diverse relationships across all functions in the BU
