Through effective collaboration with the buying team, our Merchandise Planning Manager – Footwear & Accessories leads the planning team to develop and deliver a compelling and profitable customer offer that drives the Myer Merchandise strategy. You will analyse business trends and performance to optimise inventory and sales profit outcomes for entire category and provide support to the GMM - Planning. Furthermore, you will be leading the design, development and implementation of the Merchandise Strategy for the overall category, and mentor and coach all planning resources to achieve the strategic goals/metrics.
About the role:
- Accountability and ownership of overall strategy development and execution
- Accountability for trading the business and implementing appropriate tactical activities in relation to sales, profit, stock to drive business outcomes
- Lead the development of overarching strategy in conjunction with the Category Manager and executive teams
- Establish and manage the budget and financial performance of the business with relevant stakeholders.
- Lead team to ensure accurate forecasting on key financial metrics and effectively communicate any risk based on sales trends, marketing and product performance
- Lead team to ensure planning and analysis including; in-season and post season analysis on supplier delivery performance, stock health and in season reporting and analysis for the business
- Collaboration with Category Manager to build and deliver a customer focused range that delivers on key metrics such as Sales, GP and option productivity
- Manage the intake phasing / stock levels to minimise stockholding but maximise sales opportunities and retain fresh, new merchandise flow
- Oversee Senior Analysis & Planning Managers and Analysis & Planning Managers with regards to category performance including Store sales and stock performance, stock health, stock flow, profitable Sales, Brand performance
About you:
- 5+ years experience in Senior planning role or retail equivalent
- 3-5 years’ people leadership experience, including leading leaders
- Demonstrate a proven track record of delivering KPI results
- Expert on store demographics – joint responsibility with Buyer
- Retail, financial and business acumen
- Exceptional financial and analytical skills
- Intermediate technology/computer skills
- Experience in planning systems a bonus
- Strong ability to influence at an executive level
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a medium sized team
- Ability to lead and influence senior leaders
- Bachelor degree/diploma in one of the following fields would be preferable but not essential: Fashion Merchandise Management, Commerce, Marketing, Retail Management, Business Management, Economics, Commerce
