We are looking for a Tax Projects Lead to support the Myer Group Tax Team, specifically the Group Tax Manager and overall team in leading and delivering key tax related projects, driving process and systems improvements and strengthening the group’s tax governance and risk management framework. The role also provides compliance and reporting support to the Myer Group Tax team.

About the role:
- Provide tax advice to Finance teams and the broader business on proposed transactions, projects and strategic initiatives, ensuring that tax considerations are embedded early in commercial decision making.
- Identify potential tax risks and contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the Group’s tax risk management framework aligned with ATO expectations, including maintenance of the Group’s tax risk register.
- Ensure robust internal controls around tax processes and governance, including documentation, policies and procedures.
- Proactively drive tax technology and automation initiatives, from scoping and design through to execution and embedding in the business.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to streamline tax processes, enhance efficiency and improve accuracy of tax reporting and compliance.
- Assist the Myer Group Tax team with ad-hoc tax compliance & reporting activities, together with technical tax analysis and documentation to support tax positions.
- Assist the Group Tax Manager and Myer Group tax team in managing tax authority reviews and audits, including preparing accurate and timely responses to relevant regulator queries
- Build positive relationships with internal stakeholders, external tax advisors and auditors, revenue authorities
About you:
- 5+ years Australian tax experience in a corporate tax role, either in a large accounting firm or a large corporate
- Post graduate qualification CA/CPA or Masters of Tax
- Strong knowledge of corporate/indirect taxes and tax software/technology platforms
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving
- Strong project management
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional and committed approach
- Strong IT skills
