Myer Group is looking for a Loss Control Insights Analyst to provide advanced analytics and business intelligence to help identify, quantify and mitigate shrinkage, fraud and operational loss across every part of the business. You will integrate complex data streams to deliver shrinkage/stock loss insights, financial risk modelling, exception analysis and reporting dashboards. You will help translate data into practical recommendations that support proactive risk mitigation, informed investment decisions and measurable loss-reduction outcomes

 

About the role:

  • Develop and maintain Loss Control dashboards, scorecards and recurring reports for both stores and central merchandise teams
  • Use advanced Excel, SQL and Python to automate recurring analysis and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Prepare weekly operational reports covering shrinkage, fraud, transaction exceptions and other identified opportunities
  • Produce monthly performance dashboards highlighting store-level and merchandise-level risks, trends and emerging loss drivers
  • Analyse POS, online, inventory, merchandise hierarchy and supply chain data to identify store, category, product and process-related drivers of shrinkage
  • Identify trends, unusual activity and potential areas of financial or operational risk
  • Assist with financial-risk modelling to estimate shrinkage exposure and potential loss-mitigation opportunities
  • Develop and maintain reusable queries, analytical datasets and reporting logic
  • Reconcile data from multiple sources and investigate data-quality issues, inconsistencies and gaps
  • Provide monthly performance reporting to the Loss Control Management Team, including store, regional, category and product-level insights
  • Complete ad hoc reporting and analysis in response to agreed business priorities
  • Remain accountable for the accuracy, completeness and timely delivery of assigned reports and dashboards
  • Liaise with Store Operations, Supply Chain, Digital/eCommerce, Finance and other stakeholders to validate findings and resolve data discrepancies

About you:

  • 1.5+ years experience in a data analytics, business intelligence, risk analytics, fraud analytics or related analyst role
  • Demonstrated experience analysing large and complex datasets and converting findings into actionable business insights
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modelling, Power Query and financial analysis
  • Practical experience using Python for statistical analysis, predictive modelling, automation and data visualisation
  • Experience developing business intelligence dashboards, scorecards and automated reporting using modern analytics and visualisation platforms
  • Demonstrated experience developing financial risk models, scenario analysis, business cases and ROI or benefits-realisation assessments
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify patterns, test hypotheses and determine the commercial implications of findings
  • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to data accuracy, documentation and analytical integrity
  • A team player and strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Keeps up-to-date with emerging retail fraud, shrinkage and analytical practices
  • Experience in retail, loss prevention, fraud, inventory or commercial analytics is highly regarded
  • Tertiary qualification in data analytics, data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, finance, economics or a related discipline, preferred
