What does the job look like? 

Linfox’s Intermodal business unit is currently seeking highly motivated HC drivers to join the team who can safely deliver various retail products from our Linfox rail operations based in Cairns QLD, to our customers locally within Cairns and some regional areas. As part of this role, you will be required to operate our automatic Volvo fleet pulling various trailers from tautliners to skel, completing up to 5 loads per day to stores, docks and warehouses, with minimal manual handling duties when required. We currently have a causal position available on day shift working Monday to Friday starting from 7:00am and finishing at 3:00pm, and a rotational weekend shift when necessary. Key Areas:

• Driving the commitment to Linfox Safety Standards at all times, and ensuring that Vision Zero is a daily focus
• Complying with the Linfox coupling and uncoupling procedure plus the ability to work unsupervised
• Able to assist in loading and unloading when required
• Good knowledge of Chain of Responsibility and road transport legislation
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, managers and customers on a day-to-day basis

• Current and valid HC license and history of safe work practices
• Current LF license is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Cairns metro area and surrounding regions
• Flexibility to work across the weekday and some weekends
