What does the job look like?

The Workplace Relations Officer will provide analytics, auditing and governance support across the department, ensuring informed a data driven decision making for matters relating to our diverse workforce. This is a permanent role within our collaborative and highly specialised Workplace Relations team based at our Essendon Fields office.

Key areas:

  • Analyse, interpret and prepare information for compliance reporting.
  • Conduct industry benchmarking on costs of labour and other metrics.
  • Support the preparation of submissions before the Fair Work Commission.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on employee relations issues.
  • Build a solid understanding of EBAs and drive compliance across the function.

Are you the one?

You are passionate about data and partnering with frontline leaders to ensure our operations are set up for success. While experience in Workplace Relations or Industrial Relations is beneficial, it is not required for this role. You are an effective communicator with an investigative mindset and the ability to consult with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders on diverse dispute cases. Furthermore, you can demonstrate the following:

  • Tertiary qualification or similar in Commerce, Business, Human Resources or Law.
  • Some experience in a Human Resources, Workplace Relations or similar environment is highly desirable.
  • Passion for Workplace or Industrial Relations and working closely with both white- and blue-collar employees.
  • Passion for data, analysis and ability to present technical information in an easy-to-understand format.
  • Ability to develop and collate information/materials and present information to internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to achieve work objectives under tight timelines and to a high level of accuracy. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships cross functionally.
