What does the job look like?
Step into a critical leadership role as Operations Manager at our Larapinta site, where strategic planning, team management, and operational oversight are key to success. Working Tuesday to Saturday, you’ll take charge of daily operations in a fast-paced retail environment, ensuring safety, compliance, and service excellence at every step. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the planning function, including resource and fleet utilisation, task allocation, and team development, while driving outcomes that support our customers, people, and business performance. Key areas:
- Lead daily and weekly planning of transport operations, ensuring labour, fleet, and equipment are allocated in line with delivery schedules and site capacity.
- Proactively manage compliance with OH&S, Mass Management, and Fatigue Management across internal teams and subcontractors, with a focus on forward planning to avoid breaches or delays.
- Monitor financial performance by planning cost-efficient rosters, optimising resource utilisation, and identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies.
- Build and maintain a high-performing team by planning training needs, succession, and coverage to meet current and future operational demands.
- Maintain strong relationships with key retail customers by anticipating service requirements, planning around peaks, and ensuring consistent delivery outcomes.
- Analyse transport data to inform future planning decisions, optimise route and task allocation, and maintain asset availability through scheduled maintenance and downtime planning.
Are you the one?
We are looking for a seasoned logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings proven leadership and operational expertise within the supply chain. You can demonstrate:
- A strong track record in transport operations, with a hands-on approach and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset, building trust and loyalty through clear and responsive communication.
- Confident leadership in managing and supervising teams, with a focus on fostering a high-performing and supportive work environment.
- A structured and analytical approach to planning, problem-solving, and decision-making in a dynamic operational setting.
- In-depth knowledge of transport regulations, with the ability to drive compliance while maintaining effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
