What does the job look like?

At Linfox, we believe in taking the lead in innovation, efficiency and safety across the transport and logistics industry. We are on the looking for a driven National Rail Planning and Resource Manager to lead our Intermodal rail planning and resourcing strategy nationwide.

Reporting to the General Manager – Rail Operations, this leadership role will be instrumental in driving operational performance and excellence across Linfox’s national rail and warehousing functions.

  • Leading the strategic planning and resource allocation across the national rail network.
  • Managing driver resourcing, rail equipment utilisation, and the pickup and delivery fleet.
  • Overseeing operational order plans and ensuring rail capacity is matched to customer demand.
  • Implementing and enhancing operational systems and processes to deliver service excellence.
  • Providing regular KPI reporting and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders across multiple functions and sites to optimise efficiency.

Are you the one? You’re a strategic and detail-oriented leader with a solid background in logistics or transport operations. With experience across multi-site environments, you bring strong planning, operational and resource management skills. Your ability to lead teams, optimise systems and deliver exceptional service outcomes makes you the ideal person to take our national rail planning to the next level.

  • Strong knowledge of industrial instruments, Chain of Responsibility, and budget processes
  • Proven leadership skills in multi-site environments
  • High-level planning, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience with systems implementation, reporting and continuous improvement
  • Strong attention to detail, operational planning expertise, and experience managing multi-site operations
