What does the job look like?

The primary purpose of this role is to maintain the facility and infrastructure of Linfox owned / Operated facilities within Melbourne to meet safety and compliance standards, Linfox Corporate, Customer and internal stakeholder standards and requirements on a 12-month contract, with potential for extension into a permanent role

The position of Building Supervisor has responsibility for the provision of the contracted service deliverables by Linfox Logistics for the building and facility maintenance up-keep and schedule.

The position is also responsible for allocating all resources, including equipment, facilities, and employees, as well as acting as the focal point for communication between Linfox, customer, unions, employees, and contractors with regard to the performance of the facility.

The Building Supervisor establishes and maintains an efficient and cost-effective facility to ensure that the Linfox contracted outcomes are achieved in the timeliest, efficient, and cost-effective manner to both Linfox and the customer.

Key Areas:

  • Ensure implementation of the Linfox Safety Standards through consultation and communication with site personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with safety obligations under Linfox policies, procedures, customer requirements and legislative obligations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety and compliance through participation in risk management, audits and work site visits, and discussions with site personnel in line with the Safety Leadership Journal.
  • Demonstrate development of, and adherence to Site Safety Plan, through consultation with workforce and Management.
  • Ensure all incidents, including near misses, are reported in line with Linfox Incident Management Procedure.
  • Ensure the provision of effective maintenance support that is responsive to scheduled and unscheduled service and repair needs of Linfox owned / Operated facilities
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including management team, key stakeholders, and external customers as directed.
  • Assist with delivering to the approved scope, schedule, budget and agreed quality.
  • Ensure Documents, Tools, Templates and Reporting are updated by team members to reflect the current market initiatives and pricing.

Are you the one?

The successful candidate will have a trade qualification aligned to the building and construction industry and would have worked in a supervisory/leadership role having responsibility for the provision of the contracted service deliverables. Additional skills include but not limited to:

  • Experience in a large operation supporting the building facility
  • Proven experience and a drive to lead by example in managing contractors including security, safety infrastructure, operational equipment and MHE solutions.
  • A strong understanding of environmental impacts through the delivery of repairs, maintenance & projects so that sustainable solution with minimal impact to the environment are delivered in accordance with the Linfox zero emissions policy.
  • Hands on with a high attention to detail and professional, concise documentation and communications.
