What does the job look like?

As a Data Engineer at Linfox, you’ll be at the forefront of building scalable data solutions that power smarter decision-making across our logistics network. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you’ll design and maintain enterprise-grade data pipelines and warehouses, enabling advanced analytics, enterprise reporting, and data self-service.

You’ll work closely with analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver modern cloud-based data engineering practices. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where technology and business intelligence intersect, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

This role is primarily based at our West Melbourne site, with 1–2 days per week at our Essendon Fields HQ.

Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop and manage data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and modelling.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver fit-for-purpose data solutions.
• Maintain consistent and efficient data management practices across platforms.
• Provide accurate technical estimates and delivery for data-related projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner.
• Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Support CI/CD processes for deploying data pipelines and infrastructure.

Are you the one?

We’re looking for a proactive and technically skilled professional with a strong understanding of cloud data platforms and engineering practices. You’ll bring hands-on experience in data transformation, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.

The ideal candidate can demonstrate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or Mathematics.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (or equivalent cloud certification).
• 3+ years’ experience in data transformation projects using modern cloud technologies.
• Experience with AWS, Snowflake, DBT, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and open-source technologies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• High attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
• Analytical mindset with sound judgment and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work across multiple systems and priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborative team player with a customer service orientation.
