What does the job look like?

Are you ready to lead Queensland’s transport operations with a focus on safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement? BevChain is seeking a dynamic Transport Manager to join our team at Heathwood in Brisbane. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for the safe and cost-effective management of our transport operations, ensuring we deliver superior service to our tier one customers. Key Responsibilities:

• Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with BevChain policies, Chain of Responsibility (COR), and all legislative requirements. Lead risk management, incident reporting, and continuous improvement in safety standards.
• Oversee day-to-day transport operations, drive innovation, and implement process improvements. Optimize resource utilization, route planning, and subcontractor management to achieve commercial targets.
• Manage, coach, and develop a high-performance team of direct reports and drivers. Ensure all staff are trained, competent, and supported in their growth and development
• Build strong relationships with customers and sub-contracting companies. Ensure proactive communication and commitment to achieving contracted KPIs and service excellence.
• Control costs, manage budgets, and maintain transparent financial records. Oversee fleet maintenance, compliance, and administrative processes to support operational efficiency.
• Identify and deliver initiatives that enhance safety, service, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement policies and procedures that drive ongoing improvement.

Are you the one?

We’re looking for a Transport Manager with proven experience in the transport industry who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’re a confident leader, skilled at making effective commercial and operational decisions, and passionate about developing high-performing teams.

• Experienced in managing people and operations within the road transport industry, ideally with at least 3 years in transport.
• Confident leader with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams and drive commercial and operational outcomes.
• Analytical, methodical, and process-driven, with strong business acumen and understanding of financial drivers and cost control.
• Approachable, resilient, and calm under pressure, with excellent communication and customer focus.
• Knowledgeable in Australian transport rules and regulations, general freight operations, and load restraint expertise.
