What does the job look like?

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially focused Distribution Centre Manager to lead our warehouse operations in Laverton North VIC. In this pivotal leadership role, you’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of the customer’s warehouse, ensuring safety, efficiency, and exceptional service delivery. You’ll drive continuous improvement, oversee financial performance, and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage warehouse operations to achieve safe, timely, and cost-effective outcomes for Linfox and our customer.
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing, reviewing, and updating warehouse procedures and business practices.
  • Oversee P&L, budget, resource, and capital planning, delivering regular performance reporting and analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong customer partnerships, meeting or exceeding service expectations and contractual KPIs.
  • Support team development, succession planning, and goal alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legislative, and quality standards, and champion a safe working environment.
  • Act as the key point of communication between Linfox, customers, unions, employees, and contractors.

  • Several years’ experience in third-party logistics services, with direct staff supervision and customer service experience.
  • Strong financial acumen and demonstrated P&L responsibility.
  • Diploma of Logistics or Business (desirable) and a valid driver’s licence.
  • Experience in reporting to senior managers and clients, and in managing workplace performance and culture.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, business management practices, and relevant legislation (OH&S, chain of responsibility, etc.).
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor teams, driving positive outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
