What does the job look like?

This opportunity sits at the heart of our daily operations, coordinating fleet movements to keep our network running safely, efficiently and on time. As a Fleet Allocator, you’ll work closely with drivers, contractors and internal stakeholders, making real‑time decisions that directly impact service delivery and customer outcomes, ideal for someone who thrives in a high‑energy operational environment. 
 
This is a full time permanent opportunity working Thursday through to Monday. The shift times are 5am - 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays and flexible day shift hours across the remaining three week days. 
 
Key areas: 
  • Allocating and coordinating daily vehicle movements to meet customer expectations and service requirements
  • Communicating clearly with drivers, customers and internal stakeholders to keep everyone informed and aligned
  • Managing bookings, manifests and delivery documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times
  • Updating jobs in SAP and supporting the administration of operational workflows
  • Monitoring fleet utilisation, identifying real-time capability, and escalating issues where required
  • Completing daily yard checks, supporting safety initiatives, and contributing to Linfox’s Vision Zero culture
  • Coordinating maintenance schedules to minimise disruption and maximise fleet uptime
     

Are you the one?

You are an experienced transport/logistics professional with a background in fleet allocation, transport coordination or a related operational role, comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on safety and service delivery.You can demonstrate: 
  • Prior experience in transport scheduling, fleet allocation or a comparable logistics operations role
  • Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and heavy vehicle compliance
  • Experience coordinating drivers, contractors and fleet resources in real time
  • Strong safety focus aligned to our workplace culture
  • Confidence using transport systems and operational data to support decision-making
