What does the job look like?
We’re seeking an experienced, strategic, and people-focused Senior Operations Manager to lead the national allocation function for one of Australia’s largest online retail delivery networks. Based in NSW, you will partner with internal stakeholders and subcontractor partners to deliver operational excellence and ensure our transport network runs safely, efficiently, and with a strong customer focus.
This is a high impact leadership role responsible for driving safe, efficient, and customer‑centric transport operations at scale, while building a high performing, engaged leadership team and embedding consistent, best‑practice ways of working across the network.

- Leading and developing a team of 13 Supervisors, creating a high‑performance culture focused on safety, service and continuous improvement
- Overseeing 24/7 national allocation performance, ensuring loads are assigned safely, efficiently and in line with customer KPIs
- Owning national allocation performance across safety, cost, service, utilisation and productivity KPIs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable performance uplift
- Acting as the key escalation point for operational and safety critical issues, with accountability for after hours decision‑making, incident response, and operational continuity
- Conducting audits, leading training programs, and supporting workforce planning, rostering, and performance development
- Building productive relationships with Woolworths representatives, subcontractors and internal teams to deliver exceptional service outcomes
- Leading change and transformation initiatives to standardise allocation practices, uplift capability, and embed scalable, future‑ready ways of working across a growing national network

- Previous operations management experience in a transport or logistics environment
- Strong leadership capability, with demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring and developing teams

- Demonstrated experience influencing senior stakeholders and customers in complex, fast paced operational environments
- Strong data literacy, with the ability to translate insights into clear operational actions and sustained performance improvement
