What does the job look like?

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for leading both warehouse and transport operations to ensure safe, cost‑effective performance while delivering high service outcomes for customers. The role has accountability for safety, compliance, operational performance, customer relationships and continuous improvement. Key areas:

  • Lead site warehouse and transport operations in a safe, compliant and cost‑effective manner.
  • Support and implement Linfox Safety Standards through consultation, communication and active leadership.
  • Monitor health and safety performance, including risk management, audits, worksite visits and incident reporting.
  • Deliver operational and financial performance by reviewing costs, margins, revenue and agreed KPIs.
  • Lead and develop teams to meet performance targets and foster a cooperative, team‑based culture.
  • Build strong internal and external customer relationships while supporting accurate and timely reporting.

Are you the one?

You are an experienced operations leader with a strong safety and compliance focus and the ability to lead high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced logistics or transport environment. You bring commercial acumen, operational discipline and a continuous improvement mindset. You can demonstrate:
  • Experience leading road and/or rail transport and warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of contemporary business and operations management practices.
  • Capability to lead, develop and motivate teams of 5+ direct reports.
  • Understanding of financial drivers, costs and margin management.
  • Experience using WMS and SAP systems (preferred).
  • Eligibility to hold a current valid NSW driver licence, with HRW (Forklift) licence desirable.
