What does the job look like?

Are you a skilled and safety‑driven Heavy Diesel Mechanic looking for a rewarding and stable career? Based primarily at our Newman workshop, you’ll work with a modern, near‑new fleet in a well‑equipped facility where quality workmanship always comes first. Major repairs are handled by dealer networks, allowing you to focus on diagnostics, maintenance, and keeping our fleet operating safely and reliably.

This position is offered as FIFO from Perth on a 2:1 roster.

Please note: While your main base will be Newman, some swings may be worked at our Port Hedland workshop to support operational needs. Travel between sites will be arranged and supported by Linfox.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across a modern fleet
• Perform routine servicing, lubrication, inspections, and preventive maintenance
• Use diagnostic tools and computer‑based systems to troubleshoot and verify faults
• Complete detailed service reports, inspections, and roadworthiness documentation
• Provide occasional breakdown support when required
• Follow Linfox’s Vision Zero safety approach across all work activities

Are you the one?

We're seeking a passionate, trade‑qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in safe and high‑quality work.

You will bring:

• Heavy Road Transport trade qualification (essential)
• Ability to read and interpret technical and maintenance manuals
• HR/HC licence (desirable, not essential)
• Strong time management and the ability to work within a structured schedule
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, safety‑first mindset
