What does the job look like?

We are seeking an experienced Travel Group Team Leader to join our Essendon Fields Group Head Office (GHO) in an onsite role. Reporting to the Group Manager of Travel Services, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Linfox Travel team and support both international and domestic travel requirements. You will act as the primary escalation point for VIP travel and play a key role in enhancing systems, processes, and overall team capability.

This customer-focused role requires the highest level of professional, timely service.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead daily travel meetings
  • Support and supervise international and domestic travel requests
  • Advise on complex itineraries, fare construction, reissues, refunds and exchanges
  • Maintain relationships with airlines, hotels, car providers and charter partners
  • Prepare travel quotations
  • Manage VIP and executive travel with urgency and discretion
  • Coach and mentor Travel Consultants
  • Support reporting and analysis using Travelport Insights, Power BI and Excel
  • Identify and support process improvements and new tools
  • Provide after-hours emergency assistance on a roster
  • Manage itinerary change approvals and workflow
  • Assist with duty of care, risk and traveller tracking
  • Complete other ad hoc duties as required

You can demonstrate:

  • Experience in corporate, VIP or executive travel
  • Strong GDS skills (Travelport essential; Sabre/Amadeus advantageous)
  • Understanding of NDC and airline distribution
  • High-level ticketing capability, including ADM handling
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members
  • Workflow, queue and roster management experience
  • Analytical skills with dashboards and reporting tools
  • High attention to detail and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Professionalism, discretion and emotional intelligence
