What does the job look like?

We’re looking for an engaged, people‑focused Operations Manager to join our Retail team and help us deliver for our customer Kmart.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day activities on site, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, customer service, and financial performance are achieved. As an operations Manager you will have two direct reports and will oversee a blue-collar workforce of 15 Linfox company drivers and 40 subcontractors. Key areas:

  • Ensure smooth transport operations and execute plans with precision
  • Coordinate daily allocations across AM and PM operations
  • Allocate the correct Linfox and subcontractor fleet to meet delivery requirements
  • Oversee site financials, including staff wages, R&M, fuel, and discretionary costs. Ensure site profitability and that KPI’s are achieved
  • Effectively manage the utilisation of allocated resources, while collaborating with the Site Manager to continuously develop and improve operational processes and outcomes
  • Enhance customer relationships through regular contact and superior service delivery. Address customer needs promptly and effectively.
  • Building productive relationships with subcontractors and internal teams to deliver exceptional service outcomes.
  • Process driven, analytical and methodical with a passion to drive continuous improvement.
  • Acting as the key escalation point for operational and safety critical issues, with accountability for afterhours decision‑making, incident response, and operational continuity.
