Work type: Full time
Location: Essendon Fields - VIC - Australia

What does the job look like?

We are seeking a Modern Workplace Functional Analyst to join our Productivity Systems team within IT. This role is a great opportunity for someone already familiar with how our business operates to contribute to the digitisation and automation of internal processes and help teams work more effectively using Microsoft 365 tools.

You will work closely with stakeholders across IT and the wider business, using your understanding of business processes to help shape, improve, and support modern workplace solutions. The role includes a mix of project‑based delivery and operational support, with most of your time spent delivering initiatives aligned to the IT roadmap and business priorities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Designing, building, deploying, and supporting modern workplace solutions across Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), Teams, and Dynamics to digitise and automate business processes
  • Delivering end‑to‑end project work (approximately 80% of the role), acting as a functional SME and working closely with architects, security, cloud, data, and delivery teams
  • Providing tier 1–2 support for existing M365 solutions and legacy applications, including troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and escalation where required (approximately 20% of the role)
  • Partnering with business stakeholders to understand current processes, gather requirements, document use cases, and translate needs into practical, supportable solutions
  • Contributing to platform roadmap activities, AI capability exploration, and ongoing improvement of productivity tools and practices
  • Creating documentation, training materials, and delivering adoption and change activities to support effective use of modern workplace solutions across the business

About You:

You are someone who enjoys improving the way teams work and is curious about how technology can simplify processes and reduce manual effort. You may already be working in IT, systems, operations, or a business role where you regularly engage with technology and stakeholders. You’re comfortable learning new tools, working through problems, and collaborating with others to deliver outcomes.

You can demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or a related discipline (preferred but not essential for internal candidates)
  • Exposure to or experience with Microsoft 365 tools and business applications
  • A practical, consultative approach to understanding business problems and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Experience contributing to or delivering project work, either in IT or business‑led initiatives
  • Confidence supporting colleagues and explaining systems or processes in clear, simple terms
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Curiosity and openness to learning new technologies, including emerging AI capabilities
  • An ability to balance project delivery with support and operational responsibilities
