What does the job look like?

As the IT Security Analyst, you’ll play a hands‑on role in protecting Linfox’s digital environment by identifying, investigating, and responding to cyber threats. Reporting to the IT Security Operations Lead, this role is critical to our front‑line cyber defence—supporting continuous monitoring, threat detection, and rapid incident response while contributing to the ongoing maturity of our enterprise security capability.

This is a full‑time, permanent role based in Essendon Fields (VIC)

Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Monitoring and analysing security events, network traffic, and system logs to identify threats and vulnerabilities
• Investigating and responding to security incidents, including triage, containment, root‑cause analysis, remediation support, and documentation
• Conducting vulnerability assessments and supporting remediation activities
• Acting as the PAM Champion, providing subject matter expertise across privileged access governance, frameworks, tooling, and operations
• Partnering with internal IT teams and the Managed Detection & Response (MDR) provider to assess threats, respond to alerts, and improve security controls
• Participating in the after‑hours on‑call roster as required

You are a strong communicator with a passion for turning data into clear, meaningful insights. You enjoy working collaboratively with stakeholders, are comfortable engaging with senior leaders, and thrive in an open, inclusive team environment.

The ideal candidate can demonstrate:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Security Analyst or Security Operations role
• Strong experience in Privileged Access Management (PAM) design and tooling
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise security technologies such as SIEM, NGAV, PAM, and IGA
• Knowledge of security frameworks including ASD‑ISM, NIST, and ISO 27001
• Ability to interpret system logs and correlate security data from multiple sources
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (preferred)
• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ (desirable, not essential)
