What does the job look like?

Linfox is seeking a Business Insights Lead to drive meaningful, actionable insights across our Resources & Industrial network.

This is a pivotal role where your ability to interpret data and generate commercially relevant insights will directly influence operational performance and business outcomes. You will own the development of insights that guide decision-making, identify improvement opportunities, and enable our network to perform at its best.

This role is ideal for a Commercial or Business Analyst looking to broaden their impact, combining strong analytical thinking with exposure to operational leadership, business improvement and strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities:

• Generate actionable insights from complex operational datasets (WMS, TMS, labour systems)
• Translate data into clear, commercially relevant recommendations for stakeholders
• Define and track performance metrics that drive operational outcomes
• Partner with leaders across operations, finance and commercial teams to influence decisions
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, cost efficiency and service outcomes
• Support development of reporting solutions (Power BI, Snowflake, automation) as an enabler of insights

About You:

You are a commercially minded analyst who enjoys solving problems and uncovering insights that drive action. You are confident engaging stakeholders and influencing outcomes through data-led storytelling.

You can demonstrate

• Experience in commercial analysis, business analysis or data-driven roles (3+ years)
• Strong ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights
• Commercial acumen and understanding of performance drivers
• Advanced Excel skills; exposure to Power BI or similar tools (desirable, not essential)
• Ability to work with large, complex datasets
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Exposure to logistics, supply chain or operational environments (highly regarded)
