What does the job look like?
The Shift Manager plays a key role in leading a high-performing and cohesive warehouse team, ensuring BevChain’s contracted outcomes are delivered safely, on time and within cost. This role sits at a leadership level within the Distribution Centre, with a focus on driving performance through Team Managers, maintaining strong safety standards, and overseeing overall shift operations.
Based at Laverton, Linfox’s largest multi-user site, you will be responsible for effective resource management, working closely with Warehouse leadership to meet customer requirements, and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency across the site. While the role has a strong outbound focus, it operates as a general Shift Manager role supporting broader warehouse functions including inbound, loading, and dispatch operations. This is a permanent, Monday to Friday day shift role, with flexibility required to meet business and site needs. Key areas:
- Lead day-to-day warehouse operations
- Manage and allocate labour resources to ensure DC KPIs and service expectations are achieved
- Oversee performance of Team Managers, driving accountability across their teams
- Plan and roster labour to optimise productivity and meet volume requirements
- Monitor operational performance and proactively address risks to service delivery
- Maintain strong communication across warehouse, transport and customer teams
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards at all times
- Maintain the site to a high standard, ensuring a safe, clean and audit-ready environment
- Escalate and manage service failures, product damage or operational issues as required
- Promote a strong safety culture aligned with BevChain’s commitment to an injury-free workplace

- Proven leadership experience within a large-scale warehouse or distribution centre
- Experience leading supervisors or Team Managers (leading leaders)
- Strong ability to build and maintain high-performing teams and culture
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations, KPIs and labour management
- Strong safety mindset with a focus on compliance and risk management
- Commercial and financial awareness, including labour cost control
- Clear communication and influencing skills across a range of stakeholders
