What does the job look like?

As an Asset Protection Officer, you will play a hands‑on, operational role supporting the safety, security, and asset protection of Linfox sites across Victoria and Tasmania. This role is onsite and based at our Essendon Fields Head Office, with regular engagement across sites.

You will work closely with site leaders and operational teams to identify security risks, conduct investigations and audits, and provide practical, site‑focused security advice. The role is strongly focused on on‑the‑ground delivery, including site activity, incident response, and direct operational support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as an active member of the Linfox Security Group, supporting security initiatives and day‑to‑day asset protection activities across allocated sites.
  • Implement Linfox security policies and procedures at an operational level, ensuring consistent and practical application across business units and site environments.
  • Provide site‑based security advice and guidance to managers and operational teams to support best‑practice security outcomes.
  • Support day‑to‑day operational security activities, including incident response, investigations, risk assessments, stakeholder liaison, and security awareness.
  • Conduct investigations in a professional, objective, and confidential manner, producing clear and accurate reports.
  • Complete regular site security audits and assessments, including audit findings and recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with site leaders and operational stakeholders to address identified security risks and follow up corrective actions.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support operational security needs across Victoria and Tasmania.

About You:

You are a practical, detail‑oriented security professional who enjoys working directly with sites and operational teams. You are confident conducting investigations, comfortable working autonomously, and able to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

You are looking for a role where you can be hands‑on, visible, and operationally impactful.

You can demonstrate:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in security, asset protection, investigations, or a related field
  • Experience conducting operational investigations and audits within commercial, logistics, transport, warehousing, or similar environments
  • Exposure to security risk management, incident response, or compliance frameworks
  • Background in security services or law enforcement (advantageous but not essential)
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites and competing priorities
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel within Victoria and Tasmania

What's in it for me?

  • 12 weeks paid parental leave and return to work bonus for eligible employees
  • Career development opportunities and mentoring programs
  • Access to a range of benefits across dining and adventure, travel and health and well-being
  • The chance to work in a high-performing team where your contributions truly make an impact
