What does the job look like?
The Network Planning Manager plays a key role in shaping and optimising our transport and logistics network to support safe, efficient and cost-effective operations. This role brings together planning, stakeholder engagement and data-led decision making to drive performance and continuous improvement across the Coles QLD Retail Network. This role can be based at either the Redbank or Parkinson sites; however, flexibility is required to work across both locations as needed. Key areas:
- Lead network planning, including rail allocation and despatch, to ensure service reliability and operational efficiency
- Manage primary freight scheduling across suppliers and DCs, including consolidation and connote creation
- Monitor and report on planned vs actual performance, identifying trends and driving improvements
- Review and optimise metro and network planning to enhance utilisation, service delivery and cost outcomes
- Develop and execute network planning strategies aligned to customer demand and business growth
- Analyse freight, route and operational data to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with operations, transport, warehouse and customer teams to deliver against service expectations and KPIs
- Lead key optimisation and transformation initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
