What does the job look like?

As a Workplace Relations Advisor, you will play a key role in driving our industrial relations strategy across a diverse, unionised blue-collar workforce. You will provide specialist advice to leaders and stakeholders, supporting operational efficiency and business outcomes, while gaining strong exposure to unions, tribunals and courts.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing tailored workplace relations and policy advice to leaders and site management
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on employee and industrial relations matters across the business
  • Supporting People & Culture teams on complex ER/IR matters
  • Leading workplace investigations across grievances, disputes, misconduct, and policy breaches
  • Supporting and managing enterprise bargaining processes end-to-end
  • Preparing submissions and supporting matters before the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and union representatives
  • Providing advice to minimise risk and support sound business decision-making
  • Contributing to dispute resolution processes (formal and informal)

About You:

You bring strong investigative skills, sound judgement, and the ability to influence and partner with stakeholders across all levels.

You can demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace/Industrial Relations, HR, Business or Law
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in ER/IR within a blue-collar environment
  • Strong experience conducting workplace investigations
  • Solid understanding of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and related legislation
  • Knowledge of enterprise bargaining frameworks
  • Experience preparing materials for tribunal or court matters
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Commercial awareness, particularly around labour cost and productivity
  • High level communication skills with a commitment to confidentiality and integrity
