What does the job look like?

This is a high-impact HR Business Partner role supporting a large, multi-site retail portfolio, partnering closely with operational leaders to drive business performance. You will provide end-to-end HR support across employee relations, workforce planning and leadership capability. This is a visible, on-the-ground role where you will influence leaders, drive people outcomes, and contribute to overall business success.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading complex employee relations matters including investigations, performance management and grievances
  • Supporting organisational change, restructures, and workforce planning initiatives
  • Designing and facilitating People Days and leadership development sessions
  • Collaborating with Centres of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, L&D, Workplace Relations)
  • Influencing and challenging leaders to uplift performance and culture
  • Supporting compliance with workplace legislation and internal policies
  • Providing regular reporting and insights to senior stakeholders
  • Building strong relationships across national operational teams and support functions

About You:

You’re a resilient and commercially savvy HR professional who enjoys working in dynamic, high-volume environments. You bring a pragmatic approach, strong business acumen, and are comfortable managing competing priorities across a broad portfolio.

You can demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, business or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a similar scale HRBP role, ideally within retail, supply chain, logistics or FMCG
  • Proven capability managing high-volume employee relations cases in operational environments
  • Experience supporting large, geographically dispersed workforces
  • Strong stakeholder management across senior leaders and site-based teams
  • Data-led decision making and ability to translate insights into action
  • Delivery of leadership capability programs or People Days
  • A willingness to travel across VIC, NSW, and QLD
