What does the job look like?

Join Linfox Intermodal and play an influential part in keeping Australia's supply chain moving. As a Load Planner, you'll work across rail and transport operations, building efficient load plans, coordinating freight movements, and collaborating with stakeholders across the business to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transport operations experience to broaden their planning expertise, gain exposure to a national logistics network, and develop their career within one of Australia's leading supply chain organisations. 
 
This is a full-time permanent opportunity located at our Intermodal Head Office in West Melbourne, working Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm. Key areas:
  • Coordinate daily freight collections and transport movements to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Plan and optimise container and load configurations to maximise utilisation and network efficiency.
  • Collaborate with operational teams, suppliers, customer service teams and internal stakeholders to execute transport plans.
  • Resolve operational challenges and develop practical solutions to maintain service outcomes.
  • Monitor transit requirements and proactively plan freight movements to meet delivery commitments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning effectiveness and operational performance.

Are you the one?

You are a proactive problem solver who can think ahead, respond to operational challenges, and balance customer requirements with network efficiency and service outcomes. You can demonstrate:
  • Previous experience in transport operations, either in freight scheduling or planning within a fast paced logistics environment
  • A strong understanding of transport networks and the ability to balance customer requirements, utilisation, and service outcomes
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to operational challenges
  • Experience planning freight movements, coordinating collections, and managing competing priorities to meet delivery deadlines
  • Confidence using transport management and planning systems, including Blue Yonder (BY) or similar systems
  • The ability to analyse operational data, identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to more efficient planning outcomes
