What does the job look like?

The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a transport operation within the Customer & Healthcare Group. This role provides the opportunity to lead a team of transport professionals, drive operational performance, maintain strong customer relationships, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives across safety, service and profitability outcomes. This role will be a permanent position based in Willawong. Key areas:

  • Lead safe and compliant transport operations in line with company, customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage site risk, incident reporting and workplace compliance activities.
  • Deliver operational performance against agreed safety, service and financial targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that support business performance and profitability.
  • Build strong customer relationships and respond to operational challenges and service requirements.
  • Support team development, workforce leadership and industrial relations compliance.

Are you the one?

You are an experienced transport or logistics leader with a strong operational mindset and a passion for delivering safe, efficient and customer-focused outcomes. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy leading frontline teams and have a proven ability to drive performance and continuous improvement. You can demonstrate:

  • Experience leading transport, logistics or supply chain operations.
  • Direct staff supervision experience, including leading drivers, allocators or operational teams.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management experience.
  • Advanced Excel capability and exposure to transport systems, with DFN experience highly regarded.
  • Experience reporting operational performance and KPIs to senior leaders and customers.
  • Knowledge of transport, warehousing or retail supply chain environments, including exposure to major retail customers.
