Here at Linfox, you’ll join a company that’s focused on evolving the supply chains of today to meet the challenges of tomorrow. We’re one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest privately owned logistics providers, proudly delivering the essentials that communities and industries rely on every day.
And we’re building a safer, secure, efficient and more sustainable future for our industry, one that’s powered by people, technology and smarter ways of working. At Linfox, together anything’s possible.
What does the job look like?
At Linfox Intermodal, we're part of one of Australia's largest road and rail freight networks, connecting customers and communities across the country. In your new role, you’ll help coordinate the flow of inbound freight as it is unloaded, staged and prepared for same-day dispatch. If you are studying and looking to develop your career in the Transport, Logistics or Supply Chain industry this is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience across warehouse operations, freight movements, safety, systems and frontline teams.
This is a permanent part-time position working 2–3 days per week, from 6:00am – 2:00pm located at our Truganina site. Key areas:
- Coordinate inbound freight and support the daily workflow to ensure freight is unloaded, staged and ready for dispatch within required cut-off times
- Support the day-to-day workflow of a small operational team, including forklift drivers and a warehouse clerk, during the early part of the shift
- Process driver paperwork and maintain accurate freight, load and weight information across operational systems
- Update changing freight and load plans in Blue Yonder, including preparing and printing revised load sheets
- Maintain accurate records across SharePoint and Excel while adapting plans as stock and freight arrival times change
- Support site safety by recording incidents, near misses and hazards and ensuring operational requirements are followed
Are you the one?
This is an opportunity to gain valuable exposure to a live transport and warehouse operation, learn from an experienced team and build the practical skills that can support your future career in transport and logistics. What’s most important is that you’re organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment. You can demonstrate:
- Previous administration experience within a warehouse, transport, logistics or operational environment would be highly regarded
- Confidence communicating with operational and blue-collar teams, including forklift operators and drivers
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and operational cut-off times
- High attention to detail when processing paperwork, freight information and operational data
- Confidence using technology and Microsoft Excel, with experience in Blue Yonder or SharePoint advantageous but not essential
- A proactive approach with the confidence to work independently, adapt to changing priorities and keep the operation moving
