What does the job look like?

Linfox’s Intermodal business unit is actively seeking an experienced Load Planner to join our dynamic team based in West Melbourne, VIC. The Load planner will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant planning practices for Linfox’s Rail network and deliver satisfactory customer service outcomes.  This exciting opportunity has an on-site requirement from Monday to Friday 10am to 6 pm, along with exceptional prospects for personal and professional growth.

Key areas:  

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective pick-up and delivery of customer orders.
  • Maximise revenue yield for each load by selecting the correct container and mode.
  • Daily allocation of customer orders
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis, reporting, and data gathering for management purposes.
  • Collaborate with customer service, internal operations, and external operations teams to ensure execution aligns with the daily plan.
  • Coordinate with operational stakeholders to establish achievable timeslots and set up operational teams for success.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational process improvement within the planning function as part of ongoing network enhancement efforts.

  • Experience within the Logistics industry or a similar role
  • High-level computer proficiency      
  • Experience using Transport Management systems
  • Strong analytical, planning and coordinating capability
