What does the job look like?

Join our dynamic Retail team as a PM Transport Allocator based in Laverton North, where you'll play a key role in overseeing transport operations for one of Australia's largest supermarket chains. In this pivotal position, you’ll manage allocations, route planning, and dispatching metropolitan deliveries, ensuring smooth operations on shift. With 12-hour shifts starting at 4 PM and a rotating 3-2-2 roster, this role offers a perfect blend of challenge and opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. Key areas:

  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders, providing clear instructions while fostering positive relationships
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to run sheets, delivery schedules, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure regular communication with customers, keeping them well-informed about their scheduled deliveries or any changes that may impact them
  • Participating and committing to Safety Standards and COR requirements at all times

Are you the one?

We're seeking seasoned transport professionals with experience in scheduling/allocation or relevant operations, offering training and support for the ideal candidate. You can demonstrate:

  • Experience in transport load planning, driver or fleet allocating is highly regarded, but not essential – a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills – experience with TMS is highly regarded
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the Melbourne metro area
  • Highly organised with the ability to work calmly and efficiently in high-pressure environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
