What does the job look like?

Linfox has forged an impressive reputation for our safety culture and performance. Reporting to the President of Government & Defence (G&D), you will play a critical role in optimising, leading and maintaining a safe work environment by applying WHS specialist and Chain of Responsibility skills and knowledge. In this role, you will coach and mentor the G&D business unit to exercise safety and on-road compliance responsibilities.

  • Ensure integrity of WHS risk assessment and risk management processes

  • Establish effective and measurable objectives, targets and KPIs for G&D as part of the internal performance evaluation process in line with the Linfox corporate safety management system

  • Support the implementation of corporate, business unit and site safety initiatives

  • Facilitate senior management and site management safety communication forums

  • Lead, mentor and manage the G&D Safety Team

Are you the one?

You are an excellent communicator who lives and breathes safety and wellbeing. You have uncompromising values around safety and a drive to implement and uphold procedures and initiatives in a Defence environment:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and industry experience  

  • WHS Act 2011 and Comcare knowledge

  • Chain of Responsibly (CoR) knowledge

  • Auditing qualifications and/or demonstrated experience  

  • Extensive experience in incident investigation and risk assessment practice

  • Experience across WHS activities, including exposure to regulatory requirement and legislation

  • Availability and willingness to travel
