What does the job look like? 

Linfox's Intermodal business unit is currently seeking an experienced MC Driver to join our team. This exciting opportunity involves driving our state-of-the-art fleet on an interstate route between Melbourne and Perth. This role involves completing general freight deliveries, with a day run departing from Laverton North, VIC and making the round trip to Perth over a 6-day journey, with adequate rest breaks along the way. As an MC Driver, you will navigate thousands of kilometres each way, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of freight. This is a great opportunity for drivers who enjoy long-distance travel and want to be part of a dynamic team. Key areas:

  • Driving to the commitment of Linfox Safety Standards at all times.
  • Ensuring that Vision Zero is a daily focus.
  • Complying with the Linfox coupling & uncoupling procedures.
  • Daily prestart checks and ensure loads are restrained appropriately.
  • Fatigue management in line with BFM guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility principles and extensive knowledge of road transport legislation.

Are you the one?

  • Current and valid MC License essential.
  • Prior transport experience driving B double combinations is preferred.
  • Ability to manage fatigue – BFM required or willing to obtain.
  • Knowledge of major Australian cities and/or interstate road networks.
  • Familiarity with fundamental manual handling protocols.
  • Strong work ethic, customer service and communication skills.
