What does the job look like? 

 

As the Senior Test Automation Specialist on a 12-month contract, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation frameworks and test scripts using Selenium and Java. You will lead automation initiatives and ensure the quality and reliability of software applications. You will work directly with both the broader QA team and business unit stakeholders to ensure that the Transport Product Teams deliver high-quality software solutions.

Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and mentoring junior testers and automation engineers.
  • Designing and developing robust and scalable test automation frameworks.
  • Creating, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
  • Collaborating with QA, development, and product teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
  • Conducting thorough analysis of test results and identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects.
  • Ensuring test coverage across different platforms, browsers, and environments.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and execution reports.
  • Presenting testing outcomes, metrics, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Staying updated on the latest trends in test automation tools and techniques.

Are you the one?

You will have previous experience in a complex environment, preferably with exposure to software testing and quality assurance. You will be able to apply your operational experience and process large data sets to develop solutions and recommendations for key stakeholders. Coupled with a curious nature and attention to detail, you will uncover valuable insights for the business to deliver improvements or strategic opportunities.

The ideal candidate can demonstrate:

  • Expertise in Selenium scripts and ISTQB Certified
  • Extensive experience delivering testing on complex enterprise projects, under aggressive timelines, and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Expertise with SAP products in the logistics space, in particular SAP EWM and WMS.
  • Strong experience with the execution of system test activities including automation and assisting the business and users to carry out UAT testing.
  • Strong experience of delivering traceability matrix, test scenarios, test cases, and defect lifecycle to find defects that make an impact.
  • Strong experience and skills in the development of test cases/scripts and reports.
  • Ability to lead and mentor others in testing techniques, methods, and systems.
  • Adept in defect management and a proven track record of producing high-quality test material from a variety of requirement mediums.
  • Experience in the logistics industry and/or transport.

Competencies:

  • Conceptual understanding of important QA tools and principles, including aspects of non-functional testing.
  • Working knowledge of SDLC, Test Development Lifecycle, and Waterfall & Iterative Model.
  • Regular attendance and involvement in the QA industry to keep abreast of the latest technologies, methodologies, challenges, and issues facing QA and testing.
  • An ability to question effectively, think laterally, and develop practical test scenarios and plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a passion for working in highly collaborative environments.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to prioritize high workloads and manage time efficiently.
  • Teamwork and diversity, able to work towards common goals in an open, collaborative, and inclusive manner.
  • Ability to use analytical thinking by analyzing problems, making sound judgments, and developing appropriate test solutions.
  • Set and meet challenging objectives, initiate action, and commit to clear outcomes.
