What does the job look like?

Linfox is partnered with Australia’s leading Resources and Industrial companies, providing specialised logistics services across the country. We are seeking a Transport Manager, a role that is ultimately responsible for the safe and cost-effective management of transportation operations for a long term and highly valued customer.

Through collaboration with our people, you will oversee safety, service and cost performance, partnering closely with our customer to exceed operational and financial metrics. Maintaining a long-term focus to relationships, you will also take ownership to identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities, train and develop drivers and the fleet team to understand the important roles they play. Key areas:

  • Promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring commitment to safety, COR and quality requirements
  • P&L oversight with a focus on growing the business organically and to achieve targets
  • Effective management and development of driver workforce to provide efficiency
  • Optimise equipment and operational tasks to deliver productive outcomes through resource utilization
  • Proactive management of customer and subcontractor relationships 
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote continuous improvement

This is an opportunity for an established logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, experienced in providing leadership and effective operational decision making within a supply chain environment. You can demonstrate: 

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement with an ability to build strong relationships across all levels and effectively manage supply contracts
  • Ability to confidently lead, drive outcomes and develop diverse high-performance teams
  • Exposure to route optimisation and driver management  
  • Understanding of operational drivers, cost control and operational budgeting
  • Process driven, analytical and methodical with a passion to drive continuous improvement
