What does the job look like?

The Transport Administrator manages and coordinates Defence freight movements across Australia from Essendon Fields, Vic. This role will have an administrative and data entry focus and will require consistent levels of communication with the customer and key stakeholders. Key areas:

  • Processing movement requests through the customer’s system
  • Booking in movement requests for collection by carriers
  • Ensuring the booking information from the customer is correct and accurate
  • Following up on missed collections
  • Ensuring correct paperwork is being used by the customer and providing the correct paperwork/process if required
  • Providing information to the customer for the cost/delivery timeframe of the movement request
  • Ensuring compliance with all Dangerous Goods requirements

Are you the one?

You are enthusiastic and ambitious and possess strong administrative and customer service skills. Experience within the transport/logistics industry is ideal. You can demonstrate:

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills – experience with SAP highly regarded
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a very high-pressure environment
  • Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role desirable
  • Recent Supply Chain & Logistics graduates with customer service experience encouraged to apply.
