What does the job look like?

Linfox partners with leading mining companies, providing specialised logistics services across the country. Our Resources and Industrial business is seeking a customer focused Senior Operations Supervisor in Port Hedland to oversee logistic operations for multi-national mining companies. 

This role is responsible for the day to day running of both fuel and general freight movements and would suit an experienced transport leader who will drive a high performing culture with commitment to best practice safety standards.

This role is available either residential or FIFO on an 8/6 roster. Key areas:

  • Supervise the scheduling team to ensure fuel and general freight contracts are planned effectively in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Mentor scheduling and driver teams to develop capability and provide operational efficiency
  • Oversee the rostering of drivers in accordance with fatigue regulations and leave plan
  • Effectively manage the fleet maintenance schedule
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer contacts through transparent and open communication
  • Proactive approach to safety management with a focus on improvement

Are you the one?

Previous experience in a leadership role within a complex supply chain environment, will enable you to make an immediate impact with the team. You can also demonstrate:

  • Effective leadership and people management capability, focused on team and personal development
  • Experience working within supply contracts including load configurations and truck & trailer allocation
  • General freight, load restraint & fuel distribution experience highly regarded
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, scheduling and safety management
  • Proactive approach to customer relationships with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders
