Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to keep vehicles running smoothly and meeting emissions standards.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic tools and systems.

  • Inspect engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for wear or issues, without the need for heavy overhauls.

  • Replace defective parts and reassemble components with precision, referring to service manuals as required.

  • Conduct vehicle inspections and prepare detailed reports or issue roadworthy certificates.

  • Test and adjust mechanical systems post-service to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Provide occasional on-site support for breakdowns, focusing on quick fixes to get vehicles back on the road.

This role allows you to focus on high-quality service work without the strain of major rebuilds or warranty repairs.

  • Qualifications & Experience: A recognised Mechanical Trade qualification with proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is essential.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals accurately.

  • Licensing: An HGV licence is desirable but not essential.

  • Time Management: Strong ability to adhere to schedules whilst maintaining quality standards.

  • Customer Focus: Excellent communication skills with a customer-first mindset.

  • Positive Attitude: A proactive approach to work, with a commitment to safety and teamwork.
