What does the job look like?

Our Intermodal Business Unit have a full time permanent opportunity to join our Rail team located in West Melbourne, VIC. In this position you will support rail operational movements including coordinating recoveries for service issues, driver movements and handling safety & compliance requirements across the site. This is a Monday - Friday position commencing at 10:00am and finishing at 6:00pmKey areas:

  • Track loads end to end, monitor temperature controlled loads and immediately action any defects or breaches
  • Proactively resolve operational issues with the best solution for the customer and driver’s safety
  • Provide accurate and detailed reporting for Key Customer Accounts
  • Ensure a safe working environment and completion of incident and hazard reports, toolbox talks and safety audits
  • Meet weekly Safety and Compliance KPI Targets 
  • Provide regular input into operational continuous improvement initiatives including assisting with implementation of initiatives

Are you the one?

This is an operational role requiring experience within the transport industry. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have experience providing  effective operational support within a complex environment. You can demonstrate:  

  • 2 + years working in a similar role within Transport Operations 
  • Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility regulations, load restraint, fatigue management and Heavy Vehicle regulations 
  • Ability to work autonomously and provide timely, safe and effective advice to drivers on the road
  • Strong experience utilising Transport related systems and the Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
