What does the job look like?

Take the lead in shaping a safer, more compliant workplace at a major customer distribution centre in Somerton, one of Victoria’s largest warehousing and logistics operations. As the Safety & Compliance Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring warehouse and distribution activities meet the highest safety standards. From driving risk-reduction initiatives to auditing the site, you’ll play a hands-on role in protecting people, ensuring compliance, and supporting the customer’s business. Key areas:

  • Provide expert advice on safety and operational compliance, including traffic management, manual handling, equipment use, and WHS legislation
  • Conduct safety audits, ICAM investigations, and risk assessments across the site
  • Implement proactive safety initiatives to reduce workplace injuries and incidents
  • Develop and enforce compliance action plans in collaboration with site leadership
  • Coach and support teams to uphold high safety standards and continuous improvement
  • Build strong relationships with warehouse leadership, facilities teams, and customer representatives

Are you the one?

You’re an experienced safety professional with a strong background in blue-collar environments and proven ability to work with frontline teams and leaders. You can demonstrate

  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety (minimum WHS Cert IV, Diploma preferred)
  • ICAM accreditation (highly regarded)
  • Strong experience in compliance and safety management systems
  • Skilled in risk assessment, incident investigation, and WHS legislation
  • Proven ability to influence, engage, and educate leaders and teams
