What does the job look like?
Are you an inventory specialist with a passion for logistics and a track record of driving operational excellence? Join our dynamic team supporting a long-term industrial customer, where your expertise will directly impact supply chain performance and customer satisfaction.
As an Inventory Controller, you’ll be the key driver of inventory accuracy and capacity planning in a high-volume, fast-paced distribution centre. You’ll leverage your SAP inventory management skills (or similar WMS/ERP systems) to ensure seamless inbound oversight, robust stock control, and efficient resource allocation. This is a hands-on role with significant scope for growth and development, supporting three major customers and collaborating closely with operations and customer teams. This role is initially available on a 6 month contact although opportunity for permanency likely. Key areas;
- Lead inventory management programs, ensuring stock takes and cycle counts provide a solid foundation for operational planning.
- Coordinate inbound freight movements for maximum efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with customers, providing technical expertise and insightful reporting.
- Develop inventory and systems capability within your team.
- Generate daily reconciliations, investigate variances, and drive root-cause resolution.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and safety adherence across functions.
- Collaborate with operations and customer teams to deliver outstanding service and results.
Are you the one?
- Proven experience managing large, SKU-heavy inventories in logistics or supply chain environments.
- Advanced computer literacy, with expertise in SAP and other WMS/ERP platforms.
- Analytical, process-driven, and able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Skilled at prioritizing competing tasks and managing customer relationships.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives across multiple functions.
