What does the job look like?

Linfox’s Intermodal business unit have a full time permanent opportunity for a Transport Allocator to join our team based in West Melbourne. With your exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to multitask you will support our team by allocating, route planning, and dispatching deliveries. This is a day shift role, Monday - Friday commencing at 5:00am - 1:00pm. Key areas:  

• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders, providing clear instructions and building positive relationships
• Maintain accurate documentation and records related to manifests, delivery schedules and compliance
• Maintaining regular contact with our customer to keep them updated and well-informed about their scheduled deliveries or changes that will impact them
• Monitoring service schedules for fleet & completing accurate handovers for PM shift team each day
• Completing Yard checks and meeting Safety KPI's

• Prior Transport/Logistics experience in a similar operational capacity such as allocating, scheduling or planning  
• Exposure to Rail Transport will be highly regarded 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, drivers and customers
• Strong geographical knowledge of the Melbourne metro area will be highly regarded, however not essential
• Highly organised with the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a very high-pressure environment
