What does the job look like?
The Linfox Resources & Industrial business provide logistics solutions to some of Australia’s largest and best-known organisations. We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Supervisor to join the close nit team in Derrimut where we partner with an iconic manufacturing business. This is an important role responsible for ensuring the safe and cost-effective management of our transport operations through effective driver management and resource utilisation.
This role will allow you to take ownership to identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities and recognise and rectify service issues before they happen. With an uncompromising commitment to safety, you will be well positioned to ensure we continue to provide first class service offerings to our valued customer and is an opportunity for you to make your mark with the Linfox. Key areas:
- Promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring commitment to Safety, COR and quality requirements
- Effective management of drivers throughout the network
- Deliver effective outcomes through resource utilization, subcontractor management and identifying areas for improvement
- Ensure the operations provide superior customer service offerings
- Complete regular yard walks, conduct spot checks on driver tasks including coupling checks, oversee MT Data compliance for tasks such as pre-start checks and fatigue compliance
- Ongoing review of network to maximise best usage of assets against scheduling and provide routing improvements
Are you the one?
To be successful in this role will require someone with experience allocating loads, metro route planning, safety leadership and commitment to first-class customer service. You will be a self-motivated individual with the ability to adapt to change and competing customer demands. You can demonstrate:
- Experience in a supervisory role within transport operations
- High regard for safe working practices, understanding of COR and Heavy Vehicle Compliance
- Experience with Transport Management Systems, ideally exposure to SAP and ms office
- Ability to develop and achieve operational and contractual KPI’s
- Self-driven and ability to confidently lead to achieve outcomes
