What does the job look like?

Linfox Intermodal is currently seeking an energetic and driven National Manager based at our West Melbourne site. This role is accountable for delivering a commercially sound, safe and high-performing national transport service to Coles across ambient and temperature-controlled freight. You will act as the primary customer contact, lead a national team, and ensure contractual, financial and operational outcomes are met in line with Linfox values and Vision Zero. Key areas:

  • Lead delivery of all contracted services to Coles in line with commercial, safety and performance expectations
  • Manage national operational performance across road, rail and sea transport activities
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships and act as the key escalation point for service matters
  • Drive profitability through cost control, accrual management and lane-level performance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, fatigue, mass management, legislative and Linfox policy requirements
  • Develop, coach and performance-manage direct reports with a focus on capability and succession

Are you the one?

You are a senior transport or logistics leader with strong commercial acumen and experience managing large-scale customer contracts. You are comfortable operating nationally, balancing safety, service and profitability while building trusted customer relationships.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in road, rail or sea transport operations
  • Proven leadership experience managing multi-site teams and national operations
  • Strong commercial and contract management capability within large customer environments
  • Experience managing profitability, accruals and cost recovery across transport lanes
  • Ability to lead safety performance aligned to Vision Zero principles
  • Willingness to work additional hours and travel as required by the role
