What does the job look like?

Our Intermodal business is seeking a highly capable Territory Manager based in Darwin to lead and oversee operations across the Alice Springs, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Darwin corridor. This role is accountable for the commercial, operational and customer performance of all Northern Territory Intermodal cost centres, while driving a strong safety culture and consistent service delivery across the network.

Working closely with National and Regional leaders, you will manage customer relationships, support operational teams, identify growth opportunities and ensure freight movements are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably. This is a full-time, day shift role working Monday to Friday with reasonable additional hours as needed. Key areas:

  • Support and partner with the National Managers of the Road and Rail Networks within the Intermodal business
  • Lead Intermodal operations across the Northern Territory to deliver consistent, high-quality customer service
  • Ensure the safe, compliant and efficient movement of freight in line with customer requirements and operational targets
  • Develop customer solutions by preparing quotes and promoting additional services to drive growth and margin
  • Provide leadership, coaching and structure to operational teams to ensure commitments to customers are met
  • Maintain strong working relationships with operational leaders to ensure capability, resourcing and performance standards are achieved

Are you the one?

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience across Road, Rail, Sea or transport-related operations
  • Proven experience leading teams with strong people management, supervisory and leadership capability
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships and deliver service excellence
  • Sound commercial and business acumen with an analytical, process-driven approach
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or Logistics desirable but not essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate autonomously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
