What does the job look like?

As a Warehouse Solutions Analyst within our Analytics & Design Services (ADS) team, you will develop supply chain, warehouse and automation solutions for Linfox business units and their customers. Taking a data set and item data, you will quickly translate complex requirements into fit-for-purpose distribution centre designs that optimise handling efficiency, future-proof operations and deliver commercial value.

Reporting to the Warehouse Solutions & Automation Manager, you will map stock flows, model options, produce CAD layouts and evaluate automation technologies – presenting clear, commercially sound recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

This role can be based out of our offices in Brisbane (QLD) or Essendon Fields (VIC).

Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the design, costing and communication of logistics solutions, working with the ADS team, internal departments and external partners to create the optimal fit-for-purpose design.
  • Analyse data sets and item/SKU data – including inbound/outbound volumes, seasonality and inventory patterns – to build customer volume profiles that inform warehouse design decisions.
  • Produce warehouse layout drawings using CAD tools and conduct swept path analysis to validate aisle widths, dock layouts and material handling equipment movements.
  • Map stock movement flows through proposed designs – receiving, storage, pick face and despatch sequencing – to validate operational viability.
  • Evaluate automation technologies (AMR, ASRS, conveyor, sortation) for fit-for-purpose application, including vendor comparison, ROI modelling and integration with warehouse design.
  • Deliver timely project updates, solution summaries and presentations, and complete commercial reviews with benefit realisation, all within the legislative safety-in-design framework.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and senior Linfox leaders, and support business units in customer workshops.
  • Leverage data analytics and emerging AI and Agentic AI tools to extract insights and build design capability within the business.
