What does the job look like?
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead our Western Australian Resources & Industrial operations based in Hazelmere, Perth. This role is initially offered as a 12-month maximum term contract, with significant forecast growth across the business creating a strong potential for permanency following a successful contract period.
Reporting to the State Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across our Perth-based transport operations, with responsibility for local Pick-Up and Delivery (PUD) services and linehaul movements connecting Perth with key customer operations throughout the Pilbara region.
Leading a team of Supervisors and operational employees, you will be accountable for delivering exceptional safety, customer service and commercial outcomes while supporting future growth opportunities across the WA business.
Key areas include:
- Leading a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with WHS, Chain of Responsibility and transport regulations.
- Delivering operational excellence across metropolitan PUD and long-haul transport operations servicing the Pilbara.
- Providing leadership, coaching and development to Supervisors and operational teams.
- Full accountability for operational performance, budgeting, cost control and productivity outcomes.
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency and customer outcomes.
- Collaborating with operational and support teams to support business growth and workforce planning initiatives.
- Leading performance management, workforce engagement and succession planning activities across the operation.

You can demonstrate:
- Proven experience leading large-scale transport, logistics or supply chain operations.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing leaders and geographically dispersed teams.
- Experience overseeing PUD, linehaul, fleet transport or resources-related logistics operations.
- Commercial acumen with experience managing operational budgets and financial performance.
- Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement capability.
- A continuous improvement mindset focused on operational efficiency and service excellence.
- Experience operating in highly regulated environments with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
